At the end of the day, Michigan Health Connect exists for the direct benefit of patients and populations within its service area. Health care costs are continuing to increase, care continues to be fragmented across a variety of specialties with the ability to gain a single picture of a patient’s care increasingly difficult, more and more physicians are advancing with the digital times in which we live and upgrading their offices from being paper-based to electronic medical record based offices, and state and federal governments are putting increasing requirements on health care providers connect electroncially with each other.
The promise of these trends are increased access to timely information to better care for patients that will reduce the duplicative and unnecessary testing, bring best practice treatment options to the point of care, and improve overall quality and patient experience.
There are right ways to move forward and wrong ways. MHC is committed to moving forward in the right, secure, and appropriate ways while listening to direct feedback from our community through the Consumer Advisory Committee that is being formed. The Chair of this committee is a voting member of the Board of Directors as defined within the MHC corporate by-laws.
We are committed to our community, your health and care, and becoming a deeply trusted and valuable community asset.
